The Meliora School Recruitment and Enrollment Policy
Your Path to Meliora
Our Enrollment Process
From application to enrollment confirmation, here is what your family can expect at every step.
Submit an Application
Apply during the published Open Enrollment Period. Applications may be submitted online, in person, or by mail.
Application Review
We confirm basic eligibility, including the student’s entering grade and residency within our approved attendance zone.
Enrollment Lottery, If Needed
If eligible applications exceed available seats in a grade, the school holds a public, random lottery. Families do not need to attend.
Receive Your Status
Selected students receive a written enrollment offer. Other applicants are placed on the grade-level waitlist in the order drawn.
Accept Your Seat
Accept or decline the enrollment offer in writing within 10 days. An unanswered offer may result in the seat being forfeited.
Complete Enrollment
Submit the enrollment packet and required supporting documents within 10 school days, unless otherwise stated.
Enrollment Confirmed
Once all required documents are submitted and verified, your family receives confirmation of the student’s enrollment.
Our Approach to Enrollment
The Meliora School is committed to a fair, transparent, and inclusive enrollment process. Our approach aligns with federal charter school guidelines, Georgia statutes, and State Board of Education rules to ensure every eligible learner has equitable access to a high-quality education. We actively recruit families from all backgrounds and provide clear, consistent communication throughout the enrollment and lottery process. Every step is designed to be understandable, accessible, and compliant, while keeping families informed and supported.
Nondiscrimination Statement
The Meliora School does not discriminate in admissions or enrollment based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, homelessness, English language proficiency, academic or athletic ability, or any other characteristic protected by federal or state law. All eligible students residing within the school’s approved attendance zone are encouraged to apply. Translation, interpretation, and application assistance are available upon request.
